Bowling/Finger Inserts

Question
I was wondering how long or when should I have my finger inserts replaced? I have had the same inserts since I got my bowling balls which was over a year and a half ago. I am able to slide my fingers into the inserts up to the second joint. Also what are the benefits to having them replaced? Thank you.

Answer
It is time to replace your inserts.  Once you can start getting your fingers in past the first joint, that is  one sign.  Another sign is a sharp edge developing on one side of the insert.  You will also notice that the insert does not look uniform around the edges.  This will show signs of wearing down.

Most bowlers will replace their inserts once or twice a year depending on how many games they bowl and their release.
