Bowling/Learning to hook, new ball or plug existing first?

Question
I have a Power Groove 12lb with a conventional grip but am looking to learn to hook the ball now. The Pro has recommended stepping up to a 14 or 15lb ball with a Storm Street Rod Solid and drilling that fingertip.

As to the Power Groove, he is recommending plugging and drilling that to fingertip too.

What I'm wondering is should I just get the Power Groove plugged and redrilled first while I learn fingertip and hooking the ball before making a purchase on a new ball?

Thanks.

Answer
I would plug the power groove first to learn the feel of the grip.  Some people dont like the feel of the fingertip and it would be a shame to have to plug a new ball and convert it back to a conventiona.

The street rod would be a good ball choice though for the future.

Good luck,
Chip
