QuestionWHAT IS MEANT BY "CUT TO CUT MEASUREMENT"
AnswerRon,
If a bowler has a fingertip grip span of 4 1/2 middle finger to thumb and 4 5/8 ring finger to thumb, but uses NO finger grips or thumb grip. The span is cut to cut, edge to edge, 4 1/2 middle finger to thumb and 4 5/8 ring finger to thumb.
When drilling a ball, cut to cut means the edge of one drilled hole to the edge of another. The thickness of a particular finger grip or thumb grip when added to the above spans must be accommodated.
If a particular finger grip for the middle finger is 1/8th inch thick, the above span must be shortened by 1/8th inch, to allow for the thickness of the grip. So, the middle finger span would be 4 1/2, but the cut to cut would be 4 3/8.
If a thumb grip is included in the fit, the thickness of the thumb grip must be taken into consideration. If the thumb grip is 3/16ths of an inch thick, the middle finger span would be 4 1/2, but to accommodate the thumb grip and finger grip, the cut to cut would be 4 3/16.
Your question is more about drilling than it is about FITTING. Thanks for the question.
