Bowling/Pain in the Arm and upper Back

Question
Hello Warren,
I started bowling league 4 months ago and bowl every week, in addition, I've been practicing at least once a week (4-5 games).  Last week during league (Thursday), I developed substantial pain in the middle of my bicep.  Unfortunately, I also had a tournament that weekend which made it worse.  I battled through it and won some brackets -- which helped the pain somewhat.

My question is:  Can you tell me some what might have lead to this pain, and some things I can practice or look at to alleviate it?

I know using the muscle at this point would most likely not be recommended, however, I have another tournament this weekend which I plan on playing in.  Due to this being my first year, my improvement has been rapid and I'm consistently shooting 30-50 pins over my average right now.  Is there anything I can to (besides rest it) to speed up healing?  Are there any tips/tricks the day of?

Thanks!

Answer
Josh,
Pain in a muscle, when a correctly fitting ball should require NO grip preasure suggests a grip issue. Without lots more info i can't imagine what's going on.

Please get seen by a doctor. Your obvious enthusiam should not be upended by an easily avoided injury. Battling through can lead to damage. Please get a doctors release before you take on more tournaments.

Thanks for the question.
