Bowling/Helicopter balldrilling

QuestionI am bowling helicopter style, I know it is hard to find someone that knows how to drill helicopter style. If you could help me I would like to get the right way of drilling helicopter style.
Thank you
AnswerAdrian,
I've not drilled for any helicopter style players but I've discussed the ideas with a prominent Hong Kong pro shop operator and a couple International Coaches with experience with the style.
Their input is that the equpment is very light usually less than 13pounds (because of the dramatic delivery and wear and tear on your arm, wrist and elbow). Light bowling balls do not contain much in the way of core help, so cover stock and it's effects are the keys to an effective ball reaction.
Also, minimal imbalance is left in the ball, because the technique imparts such a unique roll (spin) to the ball. The technique was developed to combat the extreme conditions (lack of lane conditioner) in many centers in Asia. I've seen the technique used, unfortunately, the abundance of lane conditioner in most tournaments in the West, negates some of the advantages helicopter players enjoy on dry, wood lanes. Where are you from? What got you interested in this style?
Thanks for your question. I hope I've helped a little. Good luck.
