Question
QUESTION: I have a new pair of Brunswick shoes that has a felt upper(toe/ball) of foot section and a rubber tennis shoe like heel section. I need to know what to do to get the left shoe to slide? I have used the powder used to help sliding but it did not help. Also tried to burnish the soles on carpet to help, same result. I actually hurt my leg by the shoe stopping me dead in my tracks and virtually catapulting me.

ANSWER: What is the name of the shoes you just bought?  Are you left handed or right handed?  What shoes did you have before the new pair?

If it is the sole that is causing the problem, you can buy a Master product that you can attach to the sole of the shoe.  It is a teflon pad.  If you do that, it is permanent and can not be removed.  If you can answer the questions I asked, we may be able to come up with a different plan.

QUESTION: Hello!

Brunswick Vasu is the name model. Microfiber sole and non marking rubber heel. Right handed. I did notice some squeaking from the heel portion and that may be part of the problem but I can say the microfiber is not sliding well. Former shoes were very old similiar to a house shoe....Dexter....Thanks a million for the help!!....Dal

Answer
If the Dexters you had were a more traditional style, you will have to take some time to get used to these new ones.  The new style shoes tend to be flatter and will make you contact both the heel and the toe at the same time.  That is why you have  heard the squeek from the heel.  Concentrate on coming down on the ball of the foot first when you slide.
The micro fiber doesnt seem to slide quite as much as the old leather soles at the beginning anyway.

Good luck,
Chip

Master makes the Tru-slide if you have to have more slide.
