Bowling/pin placement and top weight

Question
Recently my guy who drills my bowling balls mentioned pin placement. What is pin placement and how does affect or change the ball movement? Also what does the top weight do?

Answer
Top weight:  Higher top weight will delay the balls breakpoint and make it sharper.
Lower top weight will make the breakpoint calmer and earlier.

Pin placement can enhance the balls hook potential or lessen it depending on the placement compared to the bowlers Positive axis point. PAP
If you place the pin closer to your PAP, it lessens the flare potential and will decrease the hook potential.  If you place the pin 3 3/8ths inches from your PAP, it will increase the flare and the hook potential.  The further you move the pin from your PAP, you will increase the length and delay the hook.
