Bowling/Ring Finger Sore! after bowling

Question
Hello,

My ring finger is very sore when bending to my palm after bowling. I also notice I have a bump right at the first joint. During bowling I do not notice it that much. My middle finger and thumb do not bother me at all.  I have a 15 pound bowling ball with fingertip grips. I am assuming it is something wrong with my shot. Can you tell me what might be causing this and if i need to stop bowling for a while to have a doctor look at it.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Answer
I would suggest having the span and pitch checked on your ring finger.  If that checks out, then I would make sure the size of the insert is not too tight.  If you use a finger inser with the lift, try the oval instead.

All of those should help, and if not, then I would suggest checking with a doctor.

Good luck,
Chip
