Questioni BOUGHT A NEW STORM VIRTURE GRAVITY 15 LB BALL FIRST TIME I USED IT THERE WERE SCUFF NARKS ABOUT THE SIZE OF DIME OR SMALLER ON BALL THE PRO SHOP AT THE BOWLING ALLEY SAYS
THEY ARE CAUSED BY FOUL LINE I HATE TO SEE A NEW BALL SCUFFED UP LIKE THAT CAN YOU HELP ME AS TO WHAT IS THE ANSWER MANY THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN OFFER
AnswerRobert,
Did the shop do anything about them? Scuffs may indicate, as the shop guy suggested, that you put the ball down very early. Move your set-up closer to the foul line and try to slide about six inches from it. How far away do you stop from foul line now? If the scuffs were all from the same thing I'd think they'd all be the same size. You mentioned not.
Scuffs can be from a lot of things, again without seeing them, I can only assume. How's the ball working? Have you bowled again since you wrote me? Did more scuffs appear or if not, maybe something was going on with the lane you bowled on initially, I'd suggest that may be the case.
Thanks for the question. Just a reminder, knocking down pins, the path to the pins and back from the pinsetter is fraught with potential nicks and gouges. Unless sizable, they don't effect ball reaction to a great degree. You will not see the same pristine look the more you bowl with your Virtual. Don't worry about it. But continue to report any "problems" to the bowling center, because they should want to keep the environment from tearing up bowling balls. Thanks for the question, happy New Year.
