Bowling/ball and drilling
Expert: - 12/18/2009
QuestionWarren, after a hiatus of 15 years. I am coming back to bowling. I carried 200+ when I quit. I cannot find a ball surface and core to react the way I need. I am looking for a surface and core drilling so the ball will go extremely long and still maintain good backend (flip hard). I bowl on a cheetah pattern with wet/dry conditions, am 68 years old, throw 13-15 mph and have 12-13 revs. Am I looking for Shangrila or is there something you recommend? Thank you for taking my question, Ed.
AnswerEd,
You might want to try a Scout from Columbia, or AMF Smoke pearl drilled to match your revs and path to the pocket. Slower speed and fewer revs don't match up well to hooking conditions. The three piece will push long down the lane and give you as much as you put into it.
Not knowing anything about your current stuff, I'll assume that a stronger core will roll too early for your speed, rev rate and Cheetah (Hooking) conditions. Let me know more about your stuff and maybe an entry performance ball or one of the new urethane balls might work better.
What equipment have you rolled? What weight ball do you throw? Thanks for the question. Good luck and good bowling, happy holidays.
