Great question, however, the answer varies depending on the type/manufacturer of the lane. You might have better luck getting a specific answer from either the manufacturer of the lane surface you are curious about or asking the question of the United States Bowling Congress. They do all types of testing and approvals for lanes and lane surfaces. The phone number is 800-514-2695. Ask for someone affiliated with the International Training Center. Happy Holidays!
