Bowling/ball drilling
Expert: - 2/4/2009
QuestionI have heard that if you have a ball plugged and re drilled to many times that it loses its effectiveness. i was wondering if this is really true, and if so, how many times can you plug and re drill a ball before it is effected significantly.
AnswerMichael,
Sometimes once, some times three or four times.
When the drilling effects the weightblock, it effects the balls ability to roll as designed.
If every time a car was sold used, the engine was removed and replaced with a slightly smaller, lighter, less horsepower engine, the car would still run, just not perform as well as when new.
The core of a bowling ball is the "engine" of a bowling ball.
The above analogy can be extended further when you consider the coverstock of the ball like the tires on a used car. You can't replace the cover of a ball, but significant wear and the surface just can't perform the way it was designed.
Thanks for the question.
