Bowling/new ball

Question
Hello Mr. Friedl,

I am in need of a new ball. I am a left handed bowler with a moderate hook. The last ball I used in league bowling was a Columbia Beast (it has been a while). I tend to start the first and second games with a stronger out and then into the pocket hook and as the third game ends, my hook looses its umph. What can you recommend for a new ball without spending $200.

Answer
John,
Look at the Avalache series from Brunswick, the Clash series from Ebonite, or the Street Rods from Storm. All have dynamics a little stronger than your OLD Beast but should help on the lanes in today's environment.

The surface of the ball you buy should match your ball speed (and rev rate and rotation) and the lane condition you expect to roll on. If you roll slower, think shiny, (time your delivery, over 3 seconds from foul line to pins, you're rolling a little slower, less than 3 seconds, you're ball speed is faster) if your speed is faster think dull or possibly adjust the surface of the Street Rod, Bash (Black/Red) or Avalanche Solid. As always, please consult with the ball driller, they are (should be) more invested in seeing you succeed.

Thanks for the question.
