Questionmy son is in the army stationed in korea right now. he wanted to get a new ball by storm and has forgotten where the pin placement should be for an agressive ball carry on the lane. he is a right-handed, high swing, finger-tipped. please, a refresher course for the both of us. ( i am a bowler, too.
AnswerKaye,
Aggressive ball reaction is different than carry. I'm thinking you're asking a strong finish, the downlane hook?
A strong pin placement (flare encouraging, quicker rolling, strong core position) would be considered leverage or halfway between your track and the Positive Axis Point (PAP). (Usually 3 3/8 to 3 1/2 inches)
Ball speed, rev rate, cover texture, the core dynamics, amount of oil on the lane, all would influence how strong the layout should be.
Thank your son for serving, not enough of our service men and women realize people appreciate their sacrifice.
I've got Air Force customers in Japan and Porto Rico. Couldn't believe how cheap it is to ship a ball(s) with USPS.
Thanks for the question. Please wish him well for me, and both of you bowl well.
