Bowling/Early Roll and how to throw it

Question
Hi,

I been a straight bowler for the longest time and I started to hook in the late part of January. I use a wrister since i have a weak wrist. previously when I get a ball, and don't "fix" the ball i just use it, as long as it works. Recently a coach friend whom i play with advised me to plug my balls and have it re drilled. My strike ball (Storm Flash Force) was setup to an early roll setup. When I try to throw it I'm my regular way, it seems it doesn't spin as much and have difficulty controlling it. I guess my question is what is the ideal way of throwing a ball set to early roll setup ball to maximize the ball's reaction?

thanks... from a newbie
Francis

Answer
Francis,
Early roll is needed on oily lanes or for harder throwers. If the lane condition you are bowling on causes the ball to hook too much or too early, put it away and use something different.

It is like you are trying to putt with a driver. If the tool doesn't suit the situation it is the wrong tool. Thanks for the question.
