Question
what ball is best for different oil patterns

Answer
Eva,
If only it was that easy.

Balls must match up to you (your speed, rev rate, axis rotation and axis tilt) and how you interact with the lane.

If lane is oily where you aim, you might move a little to see if you get a better reaction. But a ball can help control the lane when you don't match up well with the lane condition.

If you throw hard and the ball is slick and shiny it will have a hard time slowing down so it can work where you need it to. Similarly with dull balls if you roll slower, too much hook, too soon, bad idea.

So every bowler might be able to use every ball under the right circumstances. The sport is way more complicated than in the past, because equipment has become more complicated. Start slow and work up, BUILD your skills. If you have specific questions about specific stuff, please follow-up.

Thanks for the question.
