Question
They always say what the winner receives in prize money. Does the 2nd 3rd or 4th place walk away empty handed or is there a dollar amount for that also?

Answer
It would be quite rare for a tournament to only pay for first place and it would be widely advertised that this was a 'winner-take-all' event. How many places the tournament pays depends on what the tournament organizer has planned. Somewhere in the rules of the tournament the payouts will be listed, including how much of your entry fee will go for linage and administrative costs. Otherwise, you should be concerned that the tournament is not legitimate.
