Question Hi there , I would say im an intermediate or maybe bowler and it had been a while since i got back to bowling. During these couple of weeks i have been bowling terribly and miserable, 130 - 190. I could achieve 230s last time...
I could not get back the hook which i usually bowl. I think there is something wrong with my release and rotation but i am not sure what is the specific problem. What i do know is that i cant feel the weight on my fingers anymore as i deliver the ball and i cant seem to control my ball at all sometimes, it goes all over the place and missing the pocket or it hits the pocket but leaving spares or even splits. Also i notice after my 3rd game my wrist gets tired and i cant keep it lock.
I am a lefty and using a Brunswick Fury. My ball does not hook at 14mph i tried decreasing it to 12mph and i could see a slight hook. The lane at times can be quite oily but i doubt that is the problem as upon looking at other people's bowling their ball hooks fine.
Answer Renny,
Without seeing you bowl, I have no idea what you may be doing. But, I suggest you keep your elbow in under your shoulder, holding the ball in front of your shoulder (will help control your swing).
The Fury pearl is very smooth and shiny, with some less than helpful imbalances, the ball could be the problem. You play on the left side, with less oil removed on your side, with less lefties, are the "other people" you mention right handed? are the balls duller?
