Hi, I have three bowling balls a friend of my gave to me that have been burried for who knows how long in the backyard. They have the rough patches on the is there a way to repair them or are they no good?

Can't tell from your description how bad they may be. Without seeing them I'm kind of handcuffed.
What balls are they? What do you want to do with them?

Is there a pro shop nearby? Resurfacing and oil removal would be two things that may rejuvenate them. Without knowing what they are, don't know what could be wrong with them. Are you intending to re-drill them for yourself? Or just try to sell them? Are the rough patches gouges? Indentations?
