Bowling/squeezing

Question
As a bowler for many years, I have noticed that I tend to squeeze the ball as I have that "burn" spot on the fat part of my thumb.  It seems at times I hit up on the ball too.  I do use a wrist brace as well.  I have some reverse in my thumb now.  My span is fairly short I think too.  I have away pitch in the fingers do to some injury and stiffness.... anything you can offer is much appreciated!

Answer
I would make sure that your ball is fitted with your brace on.  I would also suggest going with less reverse.  That will help eliminate the want to squeeze.
Have your span checked at the pro shop to make sure it is correct when you have your brace on.
