Question
I bowl in an older persons recreational league, and I
observe that most women use conventionally drilled balls and
do not insert their fingers all the way, leaving as much as
an inch between the ball and their palm. I have suggested to
my wife that she have a ball drilled fingertip to  cure
this. Am I right?

Answer
If the balls are drilled correctly, then they should not have to hole on to them that way.  If they are using house balls, then they may be using lightweight balls and the holes are too small.
Using a ball in that way will create more stress on the hand and the elbow.
A fingertip is not a bad idea, but I would talk with a pro shop before making the decision.

Good luck,
Chip
