Question
QUESTION: Chip;

I want to move left on the lanes and open up more angles to the pocket,
my present balls are drilled more or less for down & in and cannot get through the heads on the THS left of the third arrow. I have to move when
the track breaks down from all the other bowlers rolling over 8-12 and the carry down takes over.
I am a 160 avg, 400-450 revs,18-20 mph ball speed and right handed.
Can you suggest a ball and layout that will get me left to about the 4th arrow from near the channel out to about 10 with an incredible backend.
my PAP is 4-1/4 with a 1/4 " Bridge, 4-7/8 spans 4-15/16

ANSWER: I would suggest a pearl coverstock or a hybrid coverstock found in the Storm Hy Road or Reign Supreme.  The type of cores these balls have would be the core of choice as well.  If you go with a core that is stronger, it will want to read the pattern earlier and may be too calm off of the break point.
 I would suggest a layout that will place the pin 5 inches from your PAP and the CG around 4 inches.  
It is all about delaying the balls reaction to friction.

Every company makes bowling balls of this type.  I would suggest staying away from the balls with the mass bias marked on the cover.

QUESTION: Thanks for the response and the ball suggestions,I am so glad that you did not reccomend stronger cores because that's what I am rolling now. I do have a couple of questions to ask:

Should one ball have a high pin(above the fingers) and the other pinned low (below the fingers)?

Should both balls (if i decide on two) be layed out with the same PIN & CG positions
you suggested?

I would keep this in mind, but I would go with one pin up and one pin down.  The reason for this is the pin high is great for length but may squirt on higher volumes of oil.  The pin down will not do that.
I have two layouts I use almost 95 percent of the time and that is the difference.  One is pin up and one is down.

Some variety is needed but too much variety is confusing.
