Question
What layouts are good for heavy oil? medium oil? dry oil? Can you please explain in terms of PIN placement to the CG? I'm looking to get a Roto Grip Mutant Cell, Cell, Cell Pearl, and a Storm Natural, so I'm looking to see what layouts will be good for each ball in every lane condition.  Thanks.

Answer
The most important thing about layouts is mathing them up to the ball and your style.  You do not want to take a mutant cell,( heavy oil ball), and drill it with a layout that will weaken it.  You do not want to take a cell pearl,( a medium oil ball) and drill it to roll early.
If you have slow ball speed, you dont want to place the pin below the fingers just as iff you have high ball speed, you dont want to place the pin above the fingers.

Your local pro shop that knows your game would be able to give you more specific layout advice.

For the mutant cell, a 4X3.
For the cell, a 4X4.
For the cell pearl, a 5X4.
For the natural, a 4X4.

The first number if the pin from you PAP and the second number is the CG from your PAP.

Good luck,
Chip
