Bowling/coverstocks

Question
could you explain the different between a "solid" and "hybrid" coverstock bowling balls and any reccomendations on a ball? I bowl on the brunswick synthetic lanes most of the time.

Answer
A hybrid is a solid and pearl coverstock in various mix percentages.  It tends to give a more angular movement than a true solid, but more control that a true pearl.  It tries to be the best of both worlds.

It is a good coverstock for conditions that demand more control of the breakpoint than what pearl coverstock provides.  This can make it a good ball for synthetic lane surfaces.

Good luck,
