Bowling/Bowling ball repair

Question
I am converting a fingertip drilled bowling ball to conventional style. New holes drilled and ok. Mixed resin and hardener and filled 3/4 of 2 finger holes and let it set overnight and hardened ok. My question is how do I fill balance of holes to height of ball top....if I fill to top of hole, I will only have a flat surface; if I overfill, mixture will overflow and run down sides of ball. What is involved in finishing steps?

Answer
Leo,
You are attempting to fully plug a bowling ball, that's not a repair. You are trying to perform the work of a pro shop, without any of the knowledge or expertise of a pro shop operator.

Pro Shop training is available at many major distributors in the U.S. Let me know what part of the country (world) you live in and I'll suggest a location for training. I'd suggest you get International Bowling Pro Shop and Instuctors Association (IBPSIA) training. EFFECTIVE Training costs money, because you are learning the skills of a tradesman.

If I put together a video of the process, what would it be worth to you? You will NOT learn the process reading about it on the Internet. Lots of people can do a job badly, and I don't support that mindset. That is why, when teaching IBPSIA pro shop activities the instruction is call "Hands On Training."

As a volunteer here on AllExperts, my objective is to help bowlers better understand the sport, the equipment and the skills needed to be better. I choose not to support people blundering into the business end of bowling looking to save a few bucks, or looking to compete with legitimate businesses.

So, respectfully, I can not train you to plug a bowling ball. But, if you are ever in the Chicago area, I might be available for a paid training class. Thanks for your question.
