CAN A PINKIE HOLE HURT IN ANY WAY?

Hi Sonny,
Naturally, pinky holes will hurt if they are miss drilled, for example the span is too short, too long, or drilled too small. Also, if the flexibility of the pinky is not pitched properly left to right, forward pitched or away pitched.
Since the use of any extra finger holes are meant to accommodate a better "feel" for the bowler, you will find that this is the main purpose for adding a pinky hole. When a bowler ages the desire to continue bowling for as long as they can increases. Consideration is given to adding a pinky hole or index finger hole to assist in a "surer grip" on the ball for the bowler's delivery.
Sonny, technical way that the pinky hole can hurt is when the pinky hole is in the ball, but the bowler is not utilizing the pinky hole. Technically it is illegal to have a pinky hole in the ball and not use it.
You physically must have all holes in the ball covered, or filled with the exception of the standard weight hole. In effect, you can not have two weight holes on a bowling ball.
In summary Sonny, you can be hurt by having a pinky hole. One way, by it being drilled to a point that it does not benefit the bowler and causes injury or unbalance at release. Secondly, it can be a point of contention if the bowler has a pinky hole, but does not utilize it for the release.
This act constitutes the use of the pinky hole as a weight hole and it would be in violation of the rule of having only one weight hole to balance the ball statically.
Thank you for your question. I hope I helped by adding another wrinkle to the bowling brain! Best of luck to you if you decide to use a pinky hole. I would love to know how it works out for you.
