I'd like to see the pap on my bowling ball so I can tell as the ball travels down the lane that I'm properly releasing the ball & getting proper rotation.  Can the pap be shown as a permanent marking, i.e., drilling a white or yellow dot on a bowling ball, or it that illegal?

I've actually done that before. Find your PAP. Get the point drilled out and plugged with a contrasting color from your local bowling shop.

Using the ball when practicing or even during competition, will give you instant feed back about how you are rolling the ball.
