Bowling/3 pieces ball

Question
Hi, I started to play bowling since few months ago. A pro shop uncle introduced me a 3 pieces ball (EBONITE TORNADO WARNING PEARL). It was a stroker ball but I'm using this ball to play as a cranker. I still can't control my ball to hook well. Did I need to twist the ball for 90' degree when the ball reach foul line or I just need to push it like straight ball n pull up my hand to make it hook?

Answer
The first thing you need to learn to do is roll the ball off of your hand.  Keep the wrist firm.  Do not try to lift up on the ball.  Once you can roll the ball, now all you have to do is change the orientation of the roll.  Do this by placing your thumb at the 1 oclock position, if you are right handed, and during the release, rotate the thumb to the 11 oclock position.  Once you master this and you want more revolutions, you will need to cup your wrist a bit before the release.
You have to learn in learn the game in stages or you wont ever master the hook, or at least be able to control it.

Good luck,
Chip
