Question
I am looking to get a new drill press mine is old and uses the straight taper shank and i want to go to the chuck type bits and was wondering what is the speed i should be looking at in a drill press? I am looking at a few at lowes or home depot and was also wondering about how to line up the jig on the new drill press any help would be great thanks

Answer
I am not sure what speed would be best.  I have one that is variable, so I would look for one with that capability.

To center the jig, you will need a pitch gauge.  Set everything on zero and then drill a hole.  Check the pitches, if you dont hit zero, then you will need to realign the jig.  It might take two or three times, but then you would be set.
