Question I have been bowling for a couple of months now, and am still definitely in the learning process. I use an 11# ball and throw consistenly around 12-14 mph. My question is, does ball speed make a world of difference? I see old people during league throw less than 10 mph (sometimes way slower it seems) and they get very consistent strikes. Should I focus more on approach and delivery, or try to increase my ball speed some?
Answer Concentrate on your approach and delivery first. As your technique improves, your ball speed may go up some. Location and consitancy is more important than how hard you throw the ball. In the future, with improvement in your technique, you may be able to go up in ball weight and that will help both your carry and speed.
