Bowling/Ball sliding, not hooking

Question
I have a 15 pound roto grip epic battle ball, Drilled for finger tip. When I throw it, the ball revs a lot but goes straight down the lane and when it hits the end hooks just a little. It looks like its sliding down the lane then catching grip at the last second. am i throwing it to hard? i really want a nice hook.

Answer
Is the ball dull?  If not, try to sand it to dull the surface to get the ball to grip sooner.
Also, have someone watch you throw the ball to see what your axis rotation is.  If you are coming around the ball too much that will create a lot of skid.

Good luck,
Chip
