Question
I have several questions,Hope you do not mind if i ask them all at one time.
1. How many games can you bowl before you have your ball resurfaced?

2. Which is better--a bowling ball cleaning machine
or a spinner to clean your ball

3. what do you Clean a reactive urethane ball with?

4. what do you clean a viz-a-ball with?

I have only been bowling for 3 months and i started with a leauge. I have an avg. of 140 is this a good avg?  My wife wanted me to become more active so she looked on e-bay and payed for 4 bowling balls all undrilled, 2 for her and 2 for me. can you tell me if these are good balls for 2 beginners.
Wifes bowling balls--
AMF RPM NINJA #42H0420 10 LBS.
COLUMBIA WHITE DOT # 3W203025 10 LBS.
-----------------------------
My bowling balls--
BRUNSWICK VIZ-A-BALL # BTA4039 12 LBS.
WILSON PRO STAFF II # 3K33232 16 LBS.
------------------------------
AND 1 OLD DRILLED EBONITE DON CARTER GYRO-BALANCE
# 7P74021 16 LBS.
-------------------------------------------------
I hope I do not look stupid in asking all these questions and I sure do want to thank you for your time in this matter.

Answer
1. It depends on the surface texture of the ball. Polished pearls will get many more games than dull particles without needin to be resurfaced.
2. A spinner with that company's recommended cleaner is the best.
3. If you don't have the ball company's cleaner, you can use alcohol, windex, etc.
4. I would use Windex diluted with water on Vis-a-balls.

140 is very good for only 3 mos. The white dots are ok for beginners. They go very straigt and enable you to focus on fundamentals. When your avg increases and you start thinking about more hook, try a urethane ball. When your avg reaches 175, then try reactive urethane. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Glad to help.
