Bowling/Consistent?

Question
I would like to hit the pocket more consistently. What is the basic four step approach and finishing stance for a novice bowler?

Answer
Jayson,
Start with the ball a little above waist high.
If you are right handed, your first step should be with your right foot. As you start your step, push the ball forward to start your arm swing. On your second step, your arm should be just past your body on its way back. On your third step the ball should at the highest point of the backswing, starting forward. As you take your fourth step, and begin sliding, the ball should come forward to the release point. Ideally, the ball should be just a hair late. Your slide should stop, a split second later, the ball should come through. This helps get leverage on the ball. With each step, your knee bend should get deeper. Bend at the knees not the waist. Your hips feel like you are trying to sit. This will keep you from bending at the waist. Your left hand should be pointed to the end wall.
As you stop, hold the position like you are posing for a picture. If you fall off, you either have fast feet, or you are trying to muscle the ball through.

Good luck & Thanks Joe
