Question
What is meant by "Sport" Bowling?  How is it different than other bowling?

Answer
Sport bowling is different in the lane dressing rules.  Regular ABC specs state that lane dressing, where applied, has to have a minimum of 3 units at all points across the lane.  However, there is not a maximum number of units so there can be a lot more oil in the middle of the lane compared to the outside of the lane.

Sport bowling does not allow for more than a 3 to 1 ratio of lane conditioner from the outside of the lane towards the middle.  When Sport bowling first was developed the ration was only 2 to 1, but with all of the different lane surfaces the ratios have been revised.

The theory is with sport bowling, integrity has been brought back to the game.  I think the Sport Bowling Program is a start, but still has some changes to be made.
