Question
I currently throw a 16lb Lane #1 h2o with the fingers drilled to the side of the pin.  The lanes I bowl on are med-heavy oil.  I throw the ball around 16mph & sometimes this ball goes long & I come up hitting the pocket very light.

I am interested in getting a new Lane #1 Enriched Uranium ball. Do you have any suggestions on a drilling pattern for this ball?  What's the difference between having the fingers drilled above or under the pin?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Answer
The coverstock alone should give you the difference in reaction that you are looking for.
A pin above the fingers will get the ball to go longer than having the pin below the fingers.  A pin above the fingers will give the ball the tendancy to squirt through the break point easier than the pin below the finger, so I might go with a layout that will have the pin besides the fingers or a little below them.

Good luck,
Chip
