Question
I live in the Kansas City area.  I found the bowl.com website but wasn't sure about the level of expertise I should go for, with the Level 1, bronze, etc. it was confusing where to start and if these accreditations were even worth anything.  Thank you for the help.

Question -
Hi Chip,
I have been reading through some of the questions and answers and figured this would be a good place to get my question answered. My wife and I are starting to get a little more serious about bowling. She is a sub 100 average bowler and I am normally around 130.  I wanted to see about getting some lessons for both of us, but not sure how or where would be the best place and what to look for as far as credentials? Also, what can I expect to pay? Thanks in advance.

Answer -
A couple of websites you can check on would be Bowl.com and look for the USBC coaches link and then the IBPSIA web site.  You should be able to find a list of coaches there.  If not, ask at your local bowling centers and pro shops.  Prices here range from 15.00 per session for our group rate and up to 40.00 per session with video analyisis.

Where do you live?

Chip

Answer
I would think at least a Bronze certified coach is a good place to start.
It has been a long time since I have been in your area, but there used to be a center in north Kansas City called NKC Pro bowl.  They used to have a very good pro shop there ran by Toby Contreras I believe.  You might check there.  If not, check with a couple of other local pro shops.  I am sure they can help you too.

Good luck,
Chip
