Bowling/Gloves Pro/Cons

Question
I've been trying to improve my game.  I was told that I am breaking my wrist back on my back swing, and that this is hurting my release (not getting very many revs).  I've resisted getting a wrist glove, but am now thinking of getting one.  The wrist glove is supposed to prevent the wrist from breaking.  I'm not a big fan of having to wear a aid all the time.

Answer
I teach with a white roll of athletic tape & I train with the tape myself instead of a wrist support. A wrist support should only be used if you have an injury.Other wise you are leaning on it as a crutch.I get my wrist in the position I want then put a long slice of the tape on the back of my hand fron a few inches above my wrist down to my knuckles. As I bend my wrist back, the tape binds behind the wrist so that you can feel it when you do it. As you try to cup or caulk your wrist more, the tape will mot stretch & resists this motion
REVS are not everything! There aqre heavy rolling bowlers also. A heavy roll is for all types of bowlers.Theres a guy called RUDY REVS. He just puts revs on the ball with little lift. When his ball hits the pins, it deflects bigtime with no drive. Then theres WALTER RAY, he has a medium low rev rate but has that heavy roll to push the pins instead of the pins pushing the ball.If you really have to force the revs, your style may mot be able to handle them.Your body will resist it & it is very hard to traun your body if it does not like what you want it to do.Try extending your follow thru as far as you can get it.Gently squeeze your fingertips into the palm as you release the ball & bring them up into your palm at release.Lock your elbow all the way thru your approach & release thru your follow thru. In practice you can also put a slice of tape on the ball underneath your hand to see & read the roll on the ball. You can even tear off a thin slice & put it on your fingers so it buggs you. This will teach your sub conscious to read the armswing. You can picture where your hand is & whats it doing by feeling the tape.
REMENBER TO WIPE OFF THE SWEAT BEFORE YOU PUT ON THE TAPR OR IT WONT STICK & DO THE JOB. AND ALSO, WHEN YOU PULL OUT SOME ARM HAIR WANTING TO OVER CUP THE BALL, YOU WILL ONLY DO IT A FEW TIMES BEFORE YOUR WRIST LEARNS.

TRY THE TAPE & LET ME KNOW HOW IT WORKS.
