Bowling/Hook

QuestionHi, I am a moderatlely experienced bowler and i throw a BVP Nemesis. I throw a pretty big hook but lately as I've been paying close attention to my timing I've noticed more ballspeed and less hook. when i tryed to analyze why i was getting less hook i noticed that i was getting a WHOLE lot less ball rotation, or "revs" as i believe it is called. I also noticed that instead of having a spin that was kind of Diagonal to the forward direction of the balls movement (Which seems to be the proper rotation that most good players i see have), The ball seems to kind of spin on its side and never really "bite", or grip the lane and move across the lane with some good force. When i began to question how I was doing this i noticed that i seem to be dropping my wrist when i release the ball. Anyway what i basically would like to know is for one thing, how to get my "agressive" spin back and also how to kind of take that spin to the next level (increase it).
-Thanks
AnswerI am not sure what you mean by paying more attention to your timing, but it sounds like you have gotten your feet ahead of your swing. This will cause you to pull through the swing and increase ball speed and decrease revs. It causes your wrist to break, and not matter how strong you are, you cannot keep your wrist from collapsing.
It sounds like you would need to start the ball into the swing sooner, slow the pace of your footwork.
It might be good to just work on having your armswing be a constant speed throughout the motion until you get your stronger wrist position back. Once you get that back, you can go back to trying to increase your hand speed through the ball.
Good luck,
