Question
I would like to know is there anything I can do to stop me from coming around the ball instead of threw the ball.  I have read many books about keeping the thumb at 2 o'clock but I cant seem too stay behind the ball.  This is a major problem I have been having for years.  Please can you help.

Answer
The best way to work on this is via video tape.  If your timing is late..........feet to the foul line before the ball.........you will have to use muscle in the downswing and this will cause early rotation.

Usually, muscle in the downswing, regardless of the cause, will lead to early and over turning the ball at release.

You may also want to take a look at the fit of your ball.  If you are having to squeeze the ball, this will cause you to over rotate as well.

One thing you may want to try with an old ball.........add 1/4 right pitch to every hole from what you are using now.  This may help you stay behind the ball.  You must add the same amount to all three holes though.

Good luck,
