Question
I'm a 39 year old "beginner" who would like to bowl more with my kids. I also was talked into being an alternate bowler in a mens league with my friends. I'm the only guy out of @200 other bowlers that has a rented ball and shoes. I think it's time for my own. I'm a straight ball bowler,no curves whatsoever. I'm 170 lbs. using a 16lb. ball. What kind of ball should I be looking for? Brand? size? material? Any help would be great. Thanks.....PJM.

Answer
I rarely sell 16# bowling balls anymore, so I would suggest looking at 15# equipment.
Even if  you arent interested in learning h ow to hook the ball, stepping up to an entry or mid level ball.  This type of ball will give you better pin action if nothing else.
Colubmia, Ebonite, and Storm have some of the best.  They should sell between 90-145.

Good luck,
Chip
