Bowling/Slow down

Question
Hi
We were bowling today, and I asked the Pro for a little help and he told me that I need to slow down. Whats the best way to slow down with your approach?
Jim
Thanks in Advance

Answer
Just the thought of slowing down seems to cause more trouble.  Most bowlers will slow down the ball, or the feet, but not both which is what they actually need.  I try to get my students to put less effort into the whole movement.  For instance, your normal approach and swing is 100%.  Just try to use 20% less effort during the whole movement.  If that doesn work, try 25% less effort.

Good luck,
Chip
