Bowling/Speed of ball

Question
How can one determine how fast you are throwing the ball, and what is the average speed of the pro bowlers?

Answer
I am sorry, but I dont remember the exact formula for measuring ball speed.  That information would be on the internet somewhere.  Using a stopwatch you can determine the time from the foul line to the headpin.  That distance is 60ft and you can take the elapsed time for the 60 ft and convert it to MPH.
The pros will have ball speeds around the 17-19 MPH range and that would depend greatly on the condition on which they would be bowling on.  Someone like McCune and Smith would be on the high side while Duke and Baker would be on the lower side.

Good luck,
Chip
