Question
Dear Chip
I just bought a storm shift ball and take it to de bowling center in order to drill the ball. The person who perform the drilling didn’t follow the ball manual. He just made some lines around de pin and the center of gravity (I thing) and ask me questions about the desired reaction.
Could you please tell me the difference in these techniques(Storm manual, and the one used by the person in the bowling center)?
The drilling pattern of my ball is like the following
()    ()
  () Pin
        + CG

  ()

   + Key
And the last one, could you please tell me if the pattern is correct or what kind of reaction the ball is going to have?

Thank you for you time!!!

Answer
If you are a high track player, you may hit the holes with this layout.  The Storm layouts suggest the key to be two inches from your track to keep the ball off of the holes.  Having said that, this layout should  give you decent lenght with strong hook/set type of look.  This will depend on your axis point though and I do not know what that is.
Agian my worry is the ball track wanting to hit a hole or two.

Good luck and let me know what you think of the ball.  This is the ball I used to be the current leader in singles at the USBC in reno.
