Bowling/Wrist Position when throwing a curve ball

Question
Hi, my name is Deanna my high game is 230 and my average is about 170/180. At school we're supposed to write a paper on a hobbie we like to do and mine is bowling. I was wondering if you could list off some ways to move your wrist in order to make a curve ball more effective, or just to get a curve period.

Thanks,
    Deanna

Answer
Getting the ball to hook involves delivering the ball at an angle to the forward momentum of your swing.

Ideally, to move your hand from behind and under the ball, a quarter turn of your wrist(about 45 degrees)to the side of the ball allows your axis rotation to transition the ball from the forward momentum (^) of your swing, as friction comes into play, to the direction (\)of the axis rotation (for a right hander).

Have you tried the above? Keep in mind, a small rotational adjustment can create plenty of down lane reaction. Don't overturn. While you practice the above and establish axis tilt and axis rotation, you can gain more hook by further adjusting your delivery. You need to establish (muscle memory) the basics first. Lane conditions, ball speed, equipment all impact your potential for hook, so if you haven't gained the reaction you'd like, let me know and we can further discuss more options.
