Bowling/My approach

QuestionI need to make a huge correction asap. Im averaging about 193 right now. But a couple weeks my uncle noticed im taking 6 steps when i should be taking 5. He also thinks its causing my timing to be off really bad and im dropping my shoulder. Im right handed, When i step on the approach i have my right foot straight but my left is angled behind my right. Thats something a guy showed me a while a ago to correct my drifting.
I was wandering if theres any thing I can do to correct my foot work to a 5 Step approach not a 6 step.
thank you. Josh Lehrman
Answer The problem with the angled left foot is, that your shoulders will follow the feet. In this case, it will move your shoulders so they will not be squared up to target & this may be the problem with the sinking shoulder. This will also open up your shoulders defeating the drift cure.Fighting this will knock off your timing.
>>> GO BACK TO BASICS TO CURE A PROBLEM. <<<
FORGET EVERYTHING & GO BACK TO A SIMPLE DELIVERY.
FEET EVEN & SQUARED TO TARGET.SHOULDERS SQUARED.ARM BY YOUR SIDE & BELOW SHOULDER. ARM FROM SHOULDER TO HAND IS POINTING TO TARGET.PALM HAS WEIGHT OF BALL.POINT BUTT TO RIGHT.PUSHAWAY TO TARGET & FEET FOLLOW.ARM CLOSE TO BODY.FOLLOW THRU REACHES OUT TO TARGET UP PAST LINE OF SIGHT & UP TO SKY WITH THUMB POINTING UP TO SKY.
I TEACH POINTING YOUR BUTT TO THE RIGHT.THIS CLOSES YOUR SHOULDERS & WILL STOP MOST OF YOUR DRIFT.FORCE YOUR BUTT TO THE RIGHT AT FIRST. IT WILL FEEL MESSED UP BUT IT WILL CORRECT THE PROBLEM & AFTER A WHILE, YOU WILL DO IT NATURALLY.
ONCE YOU PRACTICE THIS, GET BACK WITH ME FOR THE NEXT LESSON.ONE STEP AT A TIME WILL MAKE THE CORRECTION STICK.A QUICK FIX WILL NOT STICK!!!THIS SHOULD TAKE A WEEK OR 2.
