Bowling - What ball to buy for a novice

Expert: Kyle - 12/27/2006

Question
Kyle - My wife and I just started in a bowling league this fall for the first time. Up till now we have never bowled very much, however, we have the fever and are hooked. I currently bowl about a 130 avg (high game of 179) thus far. I am throwing a 14-lb AMF Orbitz (17 rating, 6 backend) which I was told was a good beginners ball to get. I want to upgrade to a 15-lb ball so I get more action when driving through pins.  I've heard that Storm bowling balls are a good brand to get. My question: What make/model of Storm would you recommend for someone that's in their first year, but want's to improve in their game? Thanks for the reply.

Answer
Hello! If you are looking to get a good Storm ball, I would go with the Special Agent  :  http://www.bowlersparadise.com/shop/balls/storm/storm_special_agent.shtml

You can click that link to see it.  This is a really good mid-range bowling ball and I think it would serve you well.  Just make sure that when you take it to get drilled you tell the driller how you want the ball to react.  Sorry for the delay and hope to see your scores go up out on the lanes!
