Question I have been reading your explanation about how to find the pap and actually understand how to find it off my old ball but how do i use this point to properly position where i drill ,i know im sounding dense but i just dont get it,the pin and the center of gravity marks are clearly marked, for instance if i want a particular drill such 3 3/8 from pap do i measure 3 3/8 from pap and drill at that point,i want to start drilling my own stuff as local shops either take forever or always drill ball the same way regardless of type of ball....my new ball i havent drilled is a scorchin inferno and i would like it to really be strong...i bowl in 2 houses and one is dry and the other is oily.....thanks for your help.....my track is about 5 1/4 inches from pin.thnaks for your help
Answer If you are looking for a leverage type of layout, which is the 3 3/8 that you mention, you will need to place both the CG and the pin 3 3/8 from your PAP. Mark your PAP. Place both the CG and Pin 3 3/8 from that point. Now reverse your PAP coordinates and mark that spot to use as your center of grip. This layout will produce the most flare and increase the hook potential of the ball. It will also make the ball want to hook sooner.
