Question - ball fitting
Answer -
I am not sure what you mean as the inside of your thumb.  If you can give me a bit more information as to the location, I might have a suggestion or two.

The easiest thing to do, is to add some pitch in the direction you are feeling the rub.

Going shorter is the new trend, but you may need to just add a bit more reverse than you are currently using.  It wont hurt to play around with pitch changes by using thumb slugs.  It would be much faster than plugging.

Good luck,
Chip

With regards to the inside of my thumb, I mean the side which touches the index finger if pressed together.  The right side if my hand is layed flat out palm down.

You suggest to pitch the hole in the direction of the rub.  I have tried this, but it gives me excess left lateral pitch, which gets me out of the ball too early, with decreased revs.  Could I instead add right lateral pitch to the fingers?  Would that not give my hand the same feel, just a later release point about the thumb?

Answer
I think changing the thumb pitch in small increments will work better.  Changing the finger pitches will not change how you come out of the thumb.  Add a small amount of reverse and a small amount towards the rubbing area of your thumb.  It may take a couple of tries, but I think this will be your best bet.

Good luck,
Chip
