Question
i would like to slow down my speed to give the ball the chance to roll more and not skid.  i have always thrown hard.  hold the ball lower.  i take 5 steps.  thxs

Answer
One thing to try would be to take 4 steps.  This will give you less momentum and hopefully slower ball speed.  It will not change anything if you ball speed is coming from pulling through the ball too hard.  If you start to accelerate your swing at the top instead of waiting for the ball to get to the bottom of the swing, you will create ball speed and not revolutions.  If you cant change to 4 steps, or it doesnt make any difference, try to keep your swing the same pace througout the swing.  This will keep your hand behind the ball longer as well and may help you get a bit more hook.

Good luck,
