QuestionI was looking on bowlingballreviews.com lately and I noticed that the #1 ball according to what people voted is the storm dark thunder. all I wanted to know is if that is a good ball and if I should consider buying it.
Answer I have witnessed this every time a new ball reaches the market that has heavy promotions.Everybody wants the newest ball.Another catch is was it the people surveyed?,who were these people?I usually wait a few months for several reasons.1.the price goes down, 2.I get to see somebody throw the ball & judge it for myself.Companies rate their balls by their own charts. There is no universal ball rating chart! So what they tell you may be fudged a bit.
THE KEY IS, WILL IT FIT INTO YOUR YES YOUR STYLE NOT SOMEBODY ELSES. IT IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT OR WHAT CATCHES YOUR EYE(& THE NEWEST BALLS ARE PROMOTED TO)IT IS WHAT YOU NEED ! ASK YOURSELF,WHAT IS MY EQUIPMENT LACKING?WHAT WOULD IMPROVE MY GAME?NOT JUST A NEW BALL. BUT, THE RIGHT BALL.
THERE ARE OVER 500 BALLS OUT THERE.THE MOST PROMOTED SELL THE MOST.MOST EVERYBODY LOVES THEIR NEW BALL.BUT AFTER 25 GAMES?OR THEY GET ANOTHER NEW ONE.
MAKE A CHART FROM 1(DRY CONDITIONS) TO 100 (OILY CONDITIONS).FIT YOUR EQUIPMENT INTO THE CHART SAY THE TROPICAL STORM IS 15 - 35 & THE INFERNO IS 65 - 80.THE VOIDS IN THE CHART WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED.
